Vodka Jelly
This can be served either individually or as an interesting desert after a meal and this version is made with veggie gel so it’s suitable for all:
2 x sachets of vege-gel
½ a pint of Apple and Raspberry Juice
½ a pint of Vodka
1 x Punnet of Fresh Blackberries or Raspberries
Make up the vege-gel as per the packet instructions with 2 sachets of gel and the juice. Add the vodka ‘after’ you have taken it off the heat. Pour into either 1 large mould, individual moulds or if going to a party use ‘thoroughly cleaned’ 35mm film cases.
Find space in your freezer and chill for approx 3 hours, take out and serve or present them to your chums at the party! You’ll be the bell of the ball!!!
Kharbhooja Sharbat - (Non-Alcoholic)
4 small or 2 large Honeydew Melons (Kharbooja)
1/2 cup strained fresh Orange Juice (Santra Ka Raas)
1/4 cup fresh Lemon Juice (Nimbu Ka Raas)
½ teaspoon of Khus Seeds (poppy seeds)
If using small melons, slice off the top of each as a lid, if using large melons, cut them into half.
Cut a thin slice off the bottom so that the melon stands upright without tipping (take care not to cut through the shell).
Scoop out the seeds and discard.
Scoop out the flesh and process in a blender, along with the remaining ingredients, until smooth
Fill the shells with the juice and pop in a couple of straws!
